Jamie Parker joins our ARDENT8
As we bid a sad farewell to Ellie Gocoul, who has gone off to pursue a new, equally exciting direction, we welcome onboard new member Jamie Parker. We caught up with Jamie briefly this week.
ARDENT: What was your first reaction when Andrew invited you to be part of the project?
JAMIE: I was absolutely shocked, I genuinely thought 'seriously ME?!' But I am so happy and grateful to be given this opportunity!
ARDENT: What is it you’re hoping to get out it?
JAMIE: I'm hoping to meet new people who have the same interests as me and build as a performer! Learn new techniques and also grow and mature as a person.
ARDENT: Tell us a bit about where you are now in your acting journey?
JAMIE: I'm currently studying for a BA in musical theatre, and doing a few small things here and there!
ARDENT: What are some of the most challenging obstacles in wanting to be an actor?
JAMIE: Being believable and genuine in a character. Also, the fact that so many people want to do this which makes the bar so high!
ARDENT: Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years time?
JAMIE: Hopefully being successful in what I love doing, which is performing. I don't care where I am as long as I've got a stage and an audience I'm happy! I also hope to widen my horizons and be welcomed to TV and film.
ARDENT: Any last words of wisdom you’d like to share?
JAMIE: I'm not very wise so I'm not sure if these are words of wisdom! But I'm so glad that working hard has been noticed! So work hard and be nice!
