SACRIFICE
Written and Directed by Andrew Muir
βSix grand a month for one room in the basement of a disused pub on the corner of a dirty high street with no natural light and damp black walls that make it feel more like a coffin than a home?β
βItβs the going rateβ
SACRIFICE, a play that asks the question, βIs it worth it?β
Ardent8 β created by Ardent Theatre Company to provide artistic support to eight recent graduates who have found it difficult to make the leap from region to London. Through various workshops with carefully selected practitioners and a week-long residency at Soho Theatre the ensemble is able to access opportunities within the industry they have otherwise found inaccessible, but which Ardent Theatre Company believes is no more than an equal opportunity.

REVIEWS
β β β β βThe presentation of the script is outstanding as the performers are snappy and make words buzz with energy as the exchanges go on. Overall, the work the whole cast put in pays off, as their performances shine through.β Rewrite This Story
β β β β βMuir managed to tackle a handful of topics without leaving them underdeveloped. The play touches on racist comments and what makes them acceptable as well as how much people are willing to do for cashβ¦All brilliantly performed by the entire group of actorsβ Hayley Sprout
β β β β βdeliverβs a powerful message about the disappointment most performing arts hopefulβs will experience in the real worldβ Fairy Powered Productions
βIn Sacrifice, eight talented young actors prove they more than deserve to take their place on the London stage. Funny and challenging, the play makes us consider whatβs really important, and the price weβre willing to pay β both financial and otherwise β to get our hands on it.β Theatre Things
